Toby Stevens – Director

TOBY STEVENS BEng(Hons) FBCS CITP MIoD is a leading figure in the privacy, identity assurance and information security communities. Currently the Director of the Enterprise Privacy Group, a specialist consultancy for privacy and identity issues, he has worked in a range of policy development and management roles across the government, financial services and technology sectors.

As an experienced ‘trouble shooter’ for challenging identity and privacy strategies, Toby has worked on high-profile projects such as the National Identity Scheme and Road User Charging. A regular conference speaker and media interviewee, he was described by BBC News as ‘the voice of reason’ in the National Identity Cards debate. His ‘Privacy by Design’ report was a milestone for the Information Commissioner’s Office, and remains to this day an influential privacy policy document.
