The Enterprise Privacy Group is an association of organisations working in partnership to understand privacy and identity-related issues and to achieve collaborative solutions.

Private companies and government departments join the Group to collaborate on the development of solutions for their privacy, identity, data protection and freedom of information concerns. In return for a single annual subscription, organisations have free access to a broad range of workshops, training courses, practical research and an annual conference.

Alan Stanley appointed as Membership Director

Alan Stanley has been appointed as Membership Director for EPG. As you may know Alan has been involved with EPG for several years. In his new position, Alan will be responsible for overall management of EPG on behalf of the Members, and as such will work as their advocate to ensure that their needs are represented to and fulfilled by the EPG management team.

Alan brings a wealth of experience to the Management Team, both regarding information security and in the running of a Forum. Alan was Managing Director of the Information Security Forum (ISF) for many years. In that role he established the ISF as a well respected body in the field of information security and grew it to a membership of over 250 organisations.

Roger Hartley Appointed as EPG Special Advisor

The Enterprise Privacy Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Roger Hartley as a Special Advisor to the Group.

Roger Hartley is an independent consultant. He worked as a civil servant for many years in the area of Information Rights, in the Home Office, Lord Chancellor's Department, The Department for Constitutional Affairs,and the Ministry of Justice. He was the Secretary of the National Security Panel of the Information Tribunal when it heard the appeal of Norman Baker MP, and was the lead negotiator for the UK in Brussels for the Data Protection Framework Decision during and after the UK Presidency (2005-06).

Roger subsequently lead a team in the Freedom of Information Central Clearing House, with responsibility for providing advice on sensitive requests for information made to Government Departments & where he also had responsibility for liaising with the Information Commissioner's Office. Roger was also involved in the early stages of the Government's Data Sharing programme. He has a long standing interest in privacy issues, and the robustness of Information Law in the rapidly evolving context of the Information Society.

Nick Dyson appointed Special Advisor to EPG

The Enterprise Privacy Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Dyson as a Special Advisor to the Group.

Nick is an Independent Consultant having recently led the Analytical Data Integration for Government (ADIG) feasibility study reporting to a cross government group of Permanent Secretaries. Previously he was Director of Knowledge, Analysis and Intelligence at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and Director of Information and Analysis at the Department for Work and Pensions. Prior to this he led the Information Centre, within DWP, with responsibility for information provision across the Department involving the collection, analysis and dissemination of virtually all DWP statistics and management information, and the direction and management of the DWP Longitudinal Study and ASSIST2, a major leading edge IT project. He also influenced the formulation of a new Management Information strategy for the Department. Nick's 40 years of experience include work for several major companies and home Government Departments including being Head of the Statistical Service in the Solomon Islands.
